T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce President Kiran Maharaj has hailed the late Helen Bhagwansingh as “a pillar of strength and a true leader who was an inspiration to many.”

In a statement following her passing today, the Chamber recognized the business icon’s contribution to the growth of the nation, particularly in the construction sector.

It also said she will always be remembered by the business community for her courage, passion, magnanimous personality, and a role model in the sectors in which she was active.

Mrs Bhagwansingh was inducted into the Chamber’s Business Hall of Fame in November 2010.
