Tropical Storm Leslie has formed over the Atlantic Ocean.

The storm is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane during the next couple of days but there are no hazards affecting land, nor any watches or warnings in effect.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Kirk, which is also over open waters, is posing hazard to land by way of swells.

These swells are expected to reach portions of the Leeward Islands on Friday, Bermuda and the Greater Antilles on Saturday, and the US east coast and the Bahamas on Sunday.

The National Hurricane Centre says these swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
