“Trinibad” artiste charged after viral videos

A “Trinibad” artiste is due to appear in court after being charged in connection with several viral videos.

These videos allegedly contained threats of violence against individuals believed to be supporters of a particular political party.

The 35-year-old Santa Flora man was held on April 11th during an intelligence-led exercise in Penal and subsequently charged with Making Statements to Influence Public Opinion in a Manner Likely to be Prejudicial to Public Safety.

The TTPS is also warning that any act – verbal, written, or otherwise – that seeks to incite violence or create public panic especially in the lead-up to the April 28th General Elections, will be met with the full extent of the law.
