Tribute to Norvan Fullerton

Tribute is being paid to culture stalwart Norvan Fullerton, who has passed away.

Tourism and Culture Minister Randall Mitchell, described Mr Fullerton as having a profound love for the creative and performing arts, participating as a performer, producer, director, stage manager, playwright and more.

Known to many as “Fuller” he founded the Malick Folk Performing Company in 1979, which went on to dominate the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition for 13 years and counting.

He also served as Chairman of the National Drama Association of T&T, a member on the Board of Queen’s Hall, a member on the National Academy for the Performing Arts Management Committee, Programme Manager of the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition for several years; and a member of the Sports and Culture Fund.

Mr Fullerton also produced and directed works for various cultural state agencies including the National Carnival Commission, the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation, the National Carnival Bands Association, Pan Trinbago, the Downtown Carnival Committee, and the Tobago Heritage Festival.

He was awarded the Chaconia Medal (Silver) in 2003.
