Transport Minister looks to reassert VMCOTT as State’s central fleet management agency

Transport Minister Eli Zakour is looking to reassert VMCOTT as the State’s central fleet management agency.

On Wednesday, he paid an official visit to VMCOTT, where he met with CEO Natasha Prince, and the leadership of its Operations, Finance, HR Management, and Health, Safety and Environment Departments.

Discussions focused on achievements, harnessing new revenue streams, optimising cost efficiencies, reasserting the entity’s mandate and forging value-adding synergies between VMCOTT and other government ministries and agencies.

There was also a focus on the need to reposition VMCOTT as the central controlling agency for public sector fleet management.

Minister Zakour adds, “We must reassert VMCOTT’s mandate as the State’s sole fleet-management authority. Centralising our public-sector vehicle maintenance will drive greater levels of accountability and efficiency, while delivering cost savings and standard levels of service excellence. “
