“The police are in control” – this statement came from Police Commissioner Erla Christopher at the start of a media briefing today.

The Top Cop sought to the assure the public, as she said violent crime continues to be fuelled by guns, gangs and drugs.

She says so far for 2024, the TTPS has recovered 117 weapons.

Over past four years, 2,848 firearms have been seized, along with over 84,000 rounds of assorted ammunition.

Also speaking was ACP Vena Butler, who says police will be monitoring any music that promotes or propagates gang culture or gang activities.
