Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher is condemning the recent attack on WPC Quianna Mahabir.

The police officer had just returned to her Kelly Village home from the Piarco International Airport early on Tuesday morning when she was shot multiple times and hospitalized in critical condition.

Commissioner Harewood-Christopher says the incident is a reminder of the dangers facing police officers, both on and off duty, noting two recent incidents in which off-duty officers were fatally shot.

The Top Cop assures that the TTPS is actively investigating all three incidents and is determined to apprehend the persons responsible.

She is urging persons with information to call 555, 999 or 800-TIPS.
