Two areas along Milford Road will be closed to vehicular traffic as Tobago continues to deal with containment and cleanup of an oil spill.

The THA says the affected stretches will be:

Hampden Lambeau Road, from the Lambeau Fishing Market to the Magdalena back entrance

Corner of Cemetery Street and Milford Road, down to School Street on the Old Milford Road

It says the closures are necessary due to oil splashing onto the roadway along the coastline and will remain in place until further notice, pending the successful completion of cleanup operations and safety assessments.

THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine will provide another update on the situation during a media briefing carded for 3:30 this afternoon.
