A Tobago man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murder and other offences.

21-year-old Kerlon Thomas was killed and several others were wounded in a shooting at Friendsfield Road, Scarborough on August 21st 2024.

23-year-old Jay Quashie was subsequently charged with murder, five counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.

He appeared virtually at the High Court of Justice, Criminal Division yesterday, with his matter postponed to October 15th 2025.
