Stakeholders in Tobago say they are satisfied with the potential for economic opportunities via the proposed development of Rocky Point as a Marriott property.

The T&T Chamber’s Tobago Division and the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association hosted a stakeholder meeting on the development which is still awaiting approval from the EMA.

The groups say a presentation by Superior Hotels Limited was met with enthusiasm, as stakeholders believe the development will introduce new opportunities for employment.

They also anticipate the upskilling of the local workforce, development and support of the agricultural and hospitality sectors, and enhanced prospects for tour operators and other service providers.
