Seven fixed penalty notices have been issued by police for Overcrowded Vehicles, No Inspection Stickers and Defective Fittings.
These were handed out during road check exercises along the Eastern Main Road and the North Bound Lane of the Uriah Butler Highway yesterday.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man was held during an anti-crime exercise in Barataria yesterday for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Officers stopped and searched the suspect at Sawmill Avenue, resulting in the discovery of a Taurus pistol loaded with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition.
