Three samples from T&T have been selected in the Top 50 of the Cacao of Excellence Awards 2023.

The Agriculture Ministry says the samples were submitted by Stephanie Omardeen, Shankar Teelucksingh and Doolarie Ramdath.

The award, organized by the Cacao of Excellence Programme, brings together the finest cocoa bean samples from around the globe, with over 200 being submitted in 2023.

According to the Agriculture Ministry, the recognition for the three T&T samples this year highlights the exceptional quality and flavour diversity of the cocoa produced here.

It adds that it also solidifies T&T’s position as one of the leading cocoa-producing regions in the world.
