Three new wells aim to bring Mayaro WTP up to full production capacity

Sod has been turned to start works on three new wells in Mayaro aimed at addressing the water supply challenges of the area.

WASA says the new Mayaro Wells 18, 19 and 20, when completed, are expected to bring the Mayaro Water Treatment Plant to its full production capacity of 500,000 gallons per day.

Currently, the plant is producing 220,000 gallons per day.

WASA adds that the project is expected to benefit over 6,000 persons who will move from one day a week of water supply to a minimum of three days per week.

The sod turning event was held yesterday.
