Three men have been held after robbing a priest of his vehicle in Sangre Grande.

On Saturday morning, the victim reported that he was assaulted and had his Toyota Aqua stolen by three men who he met earlier while socializing.

Police say a team of officers on duty near the Freeport overpass intercepted the stolen vehicle and arrested three men from Vega De Oropouche, ages 20, 24 and 31.

The priest was taken to hospital for medical attention for an apparent head injury.
