THA wants nearly $4B for Tobago

The THA wants nearly 4 billion dollars from the Central Government for its spending in the next fiscal year.

Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, in presenting the THA’s budget, justified the demand by stating it was within the range that Tobago is supposed to get from the national revenue.

Mr. Augustine says this is national population has grown since 1962, claiming his request of 3.956 billion dollars was fair and reasonable.

Tobago is to receive no less than 4.03 per cent and no more than 6.9 per cent of the national budget, and his request equates to 5.8 per cent.

This allocation is made in the national budget, which is usually presented in September/October.
