THA Education Division update on the reopening of schools

The THA’s Division of Education has enlisted the Eco-Industrial Development Company of Tobago to manage the island’s School Repair Programme.

In a statement responding to concerns raised by TTUTA, Division Secretary Zorisha Hackett said the repair programme will cover 51 schools at a cost of $20 million.

Ms Hackett says crucial repairs have been completed, with minor repairs and other outstanding projects to persist during afternoons and weekends until they are satisfactorily completed.

With regard to Plymouth Anglican Primary and Scarborough Secondary, she says repair works have begun and should be completed in short order.

She adds that with the exception of Parlatuvier Anglican Primary, which is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday due to ongoing works affecting curriculum delivery, all other schools in Tobago should resume classes tomorrow.
