Some work is ongoing at St John’s Branch Trace, Fyzabad where a bridge collapse has left residents struggling for access out of the area.
Vehicles have remained stranded following the collapse with residents only able to leave the area via a boat volunteered to ferry them across the river.
Fyzabad MP Dr Lackram Bodoe this morning told 103.1FM News that oil-sand donated by a business owner is being spread by the Siparia Borough Corporation to make the walk down to the boat safer.
Dr Bodoe said he is awaiting communication from the Local Government Ministry about a bailey bridge or other temporary structure.
He also plans to communicate with the Minister about a short-term solution offered by a private citizen.
