From tomorrow, there will be a temporary road closure along Jerningham Railway Road, between Elohim Road and Pina Extension.
The Works Ministry says this has become necessary to facilitate Bridge Reconstruction works.
Work will begin on October 10th 2023 and is expected to be completed on February 29th 2024.
Hours of Work are 8am to 5pm.
The Ministry says alternative routes are available.
1. Commuters traversing north along Jerningham Railway Road, beyond the construction site will be required to turn right unto Dyette Street, Left unto Southern Main Road, and Left unto Munroe Road where they can then turn left unto Jerningham Railway Road.
2. Commuters traversing south along Jerningham Railway road beyond the construction site will be required to continue in an easterly direction along Munroe road, and then turn right unto the Southern Main Road, then turn right unto Dyette Street until intersecting with Jerningham Railway Road.
3. Commuters traversing east along Cemetery Street will only be allowed to turn left at the intersection of Cemetery Street and Jerningham Railway Road.
Only local traffic will be allowed to turn right onto Jerningham Railway Road.
The Ministry also warns that there will be frequent movement of heavy equipment along the roadway which may result in dust, noise and restrictions to roadside parking.
