ACP Richard Smith is reminding the public of temporary drone restrictions implemented by the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.
At the TTPS briefing this morning, he said only drone operators approved by the Authority are allowed within restricted airspaces for the 2025 Carnival period, which ends on March 8th.
TTPS Air Support will monitor “No Fly Zones” which include Port of Spain, Chaguaramas, Caroni, Pointe-a-Pierre, Point Lisas, Point Fortin and Galeota.
He adds that TTPS law enforcement drones will be deployed throughout the country, primarily in Port of Spain and surrounding areas, to support safety and security for the Carnival period.
Regarding Carnival Licenses for trailer trucks, ACP Smith reminded that a Carnival permit is required to be on the road in Port of Spain on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
He noted a increase in the number of approved permits and said the deadline for permit collection has been extended to 6PM today, once the necessary payment is completed at Licensing Offices.
