Teens among 10 held during SoE exercises

Two minors are among 10 persons were held during several ongoing State of Emergency operations across the country.

The teens, 16 and 17 years old, were in a house in Samaroo Village, Arima where police found a Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 13 rounds of ammunition.

This intelligence-led operation was carried out between 11:30am and 2:30pm yesterday.

Three persons were also held on outstanding warrants during an Operation conducted in Valencia between 12pm and 4pm yesterday.

In the Sangre Grande and Manzanilla districts, Task Force and CID officers searched the homes of five suspects, which resulted in the discovery of a quantity of cannabis and the arrest of one suspect.

And in the Rio Claro district, officers arrested four persons for varying offences including Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cocaine and Larceny Dwelling House.

Meanwhile, during an exercise between 6pm yesterday and 1am today, officers went to a bar at Morne Coco Road, Maraval where found and seized a quantity of cannabis.

They also found a black plastic bag with 12 rounds of ammunition near the WASA Water Treatment Facility.
