The HDC says two 3500-gallon water tanks were destroyed after tyres were set on fire close to the tank farms at the Olera Heights Housing Community in San Fernando.

This occurred yesterday with slight damage as well to the transmission and feeder lines that supply water from WASA to the tanks and apartments within the Development.

The damaged tanks were expected to be replaced today, with repairs to the lines to be carried out by HDC staff.

Housing Minister Camille Robison-Regis says an investigation is imminent and warned that those found guilty will be prosecuted for destroying Government property and charged with other criminal offence(s) governing similar attacks.

Meanwhile the HDC says while it established measures to regulate the water supply at Olera Heights, the Development is currently on a water schedule due to the impact of the dry season.
