Tancoo: No govt plans for new forex revenue streams

Opposition MP Dave Tancoo has condemned the Finance Minister’s handling of the country’s forex crisis, noting there are no visible plans to develop new revenue streams.

The Oropouche West MP highlighted that Micro, small and medium businesses stand the greatest hardships.

He said larger companies are currently favoured for forex at market rates while the Micro and SMEs borrow at high interest rates.

The Finance Shadow Minister said the situation is worsening due to continued borrowing, adding that tax amnesty extensions are a desperate effort to compensate for no new revenue streams.
