The SWRHA says it is conducting an internal enquiry after what it calls “an unfortunate verbal incident” at the Point Fortin Hospital.

It adds that the incident was between a hospital staff member and a “client” on August 18th, 2024.

The SWRHA says employees are oriented to the codes of conduct and the Patient’s Charter of Right and Obligations.

It notes that after an internal probe is completed, the appropriate disciplinary will be instituted, if a there was a breach in policy.

The authority adds that the client was triaged almost immediately on arrival at the hospital, assessed and provided with ward care within two hours.
