SWRHA announces closure of Oncology Unit at SFGH, all services available at new south cancer centre

The South West Regional Health Authority has advised that the former Oncology Unit at the San Fernando General Hospital will cease all operations, effective March 17th.

All services will now be available at the new Cancer Centre of Trinidad and Tobago – South facility in Pointe-a-Pierre which was launched on December 14th 2024.

The facility is housed at the refurbished Augustus Long Hospital and will only accommodate adult patients.

Children can access treatment at Mt Hope Hospital.

Patients can benefit from services including an oncology outpatient and inpatient clinic, pharmacy services, palliative care outpatient clinic, colonoscopy clinic, rehabilitation services, haemato-oncology services, infusions and various psychological services.

Responses
