A suspected case of Mpox in Grenada has tested negative.
According to NOW Grenada, a male patient had recently returned from abroad with symptoms associated with the illness.
However, the sample tested in Grenada and at CARPHA in Trinidad, tested negative.
Mpox was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on August 14th, 2024.
Mpox is highly infectious and spreads through close contact with someone who is infected – for example, through sex, skin-to-skin contact and talking or breathing close to another person.
It can cause lesions across the whole body and can be deadly in some cases.
