One man was held as police recovered a Nissan Tiida minutes after it was stolen in Arouca.

Around 7am yesterday, officers responded to a report of the vehicle being taken from its 70-year-old owner at Cemetery Street, Five Rivers.

On Cemetery Street, they found the vehicle abandoned on the roadway with damages to the front left side.

Following enquires, they arrested a 21-year-old man.
