A 42-year-old man has been detained by police after the recovery of electronic items stolen from a family at a campsite.

Police say that around 12:30pm on October 29th, a woman reportedly left $1,400, an iPad and an iPhone 12 Mini in a male relative’s truck parked on a track at the site in Bristol Village.

The relative later saw a man walking away from the truck with items in his hand, before entering a Nissan Note and driving off.

Police intercepted the car and a search revealed a quantity of cash and a package reportedly stolen from the campsite.

A search back at Bristol Village recovered two electronic items in some bushes near where the suspect’s car was parked.
