Suspect arrested after robbery of pensioner

A 22-year-old man was arrested and stolen items recovered following the robbery of a pensioner in Arima.

Officers were on foot patrol around 9:30am when they received a report of larceny from a 67-year-old man.

Police went in search of the suspect and found a man hiding on the roof of a building on Rose Street.

He jumped off the roof and after a chase he was found at a church compound on St Joseph Street.

The suspect was searched, and officers reportedly found a pouch with TT currency and an Apple iPhone.

He was taken to the Arima Police Station and charged with larceny.
