Sunny Deol believes Bollywood directors lack passion

Sunny Deol believes Bollywood directors are lacking the passion displayed by their forbearers.

According to Filmfare, the veteran actor made the point during a recent interview in which he reportedly stated “The way we used to make cinema before, the passion with which we made cinema, those things have started lacking.”

He also believes South Indian cinema has learned and is currently benefiting from the Bollywood of yesteryear saying, “The people from the South learned from us and kept moving forward, and they have progressed so much technically and in every aspect. They are making a picture for the audience, not for a selected audience. Their cinema always works everywhere. I don’t know why we stopped doing that in between; I’m sure there must be many reasons.”

To back up his point, the actor pointed out that Bollywood has started remaking south films which then go on to become successful at the box office.

Deol is getting ready for the release of his latest film “Jaat”.

It is a Hindi-language action-thriller written and directed by Gopichand Malineni, a Telugu director who is now making his Hindi debut.

It also stars Regina Cassandra and Randeep Hooda.
