It was a celebration of T&T in New York City on Sunday, as a major road was co-named after Trinidad and Tobago.
The historic naming ceremony was done along Liberty Avenue at 131st Street in South Richmond Hill in the same area where ‘Little Guyana’ was recently named in Borough of Queens.
The NYC Council Speaker Adrienne E. Adams officiated the co-naming, and several T&T artistes including Rikki Jai and Raymond Ramnarine were on hand to deliver performances.
The street was glowing with red, as many in the T&T diaspora attended the ceremony, where T&T’s culture was showcased, from the Carnival Moko Jumbies to the food and sno-cone carts, etc.
