Stewart wins silver at Paris Paralympics

Trinidad and Tobago’s Akeem Stewart earned a Silver Medal in the Men’s Discus Throw at the Paralympics today.

It’s the first Paris medal to be won by a Trinbagonian, as none of the athletes in the recently concluded Olympics earned one.

32 year old Akeem threw a Season Best of 59.66 metres, only bested by the USA’s Jeremy Campbell in the F64 Final.

Akeem, nicknamed the ‘gentle giant’, is no stranger to the podium as he became the first male athlete from T&T to won a Gold medal at the Paralympic Games in 2016 with the Javelin Throw.
