Stacy Gopaulsingh’s common-law husband has appeared in court charged with her murder.

43-year-old Shane Gomez was not called upon to plead when he appeared before Master Delicia Bethelmy of South Court A yesterday.

He was remanded in custody, with the matter adjourned to April 14th 2025.

36-year-old Gopaulsingh was murdered at her home on Poui Trace, St. Mary’s Village, Moruga on December 23rd 2024.

At the time, Gomez claimed that he escaped with their young daughter after three armed and masked men invaded their home demanding money and valuables.

The TTPS says further enquiries revealed that the accused was at home with his common-law wife when they became embroiled in an altercation.

He allegedly chopped the victim several times, killing her.
