Sri Lanka ended the Super Six stage of World Cup Qualifiers unbeaten, defeating West Indies by eight wickets today.
West Indies were bowled out for 243 – a total made possible in large part by Keacy Carty’s 87 from 96 balls: his maiden ODI half-century.
Maheesh Theekshana did most of the damage with the ball for Sri Lanka taking 4/34 in 10 overs.
In response, Sri Lanka cruised home getting to 244/2 in 44.2 overs on the back of 104 from Pathum Nissanka and 83 from Dimuth Karunaratne.
They finish the Super Six stage unbeaten and have qualified for the World Cup in India later this year, along with Netherlands, who also booked qualification with a victory against Scotland yesterday.
