A 48-year-old soldier has appeared in court charged with the murders of Carmelita de Leon and Calida Schamber.

Tesson Bradshaw of Mandalay Gardens, Arima appeared before Master Cazabon at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court today.

In addition to two counts of murder, he was also charged with Misbehaviour in Public Office to wit Unlawful Possession and Use of Ammunition – the Property of the T&T Regiment and Misbehaviour in Public Office to wit Unlawful Possession and Use of a Firearm – the Property of the T&T Regiment.

No application for bail was made, with a Status Hearing scheduled for April 19th 2024 and a Sufficiency Hearing on April 29th 2024.

Bradshaw was arrested on January 2nd in Pt Cumana, after allegedly shooting and killing the two women in Diego Martin earlier that day.
