The soldier wanted in connection with yesterday’s double murder in Glencoe has been held as investigations into the incident continue.
43-yearold Calida Schamber and 66-year-old Carmelita De Leonwere shot dead by the man around 11:15am.
The Police Service and Defence Force subsequently launched a manhunt, which included a search exercise along the Blanchisseuse Road between 1pm and 8:15pm.
According to information received via the TTPS from Senior Superintendent Sean Henry of the Western Division, the suspect was held during this time.
The exercise also included personnel from the Northern Division, the Arima Operational Crime Patrol, the Coastal and Air Support Unit, the Canine Branch.
