Cricket legend Sir Clive Lloyd has been awarded the Order of the Caribbean Community.
The accolade was bestowed yesterday at the Opening Ceremony of the 47th Regular Meeting of CARICOM Heads.
Sir Clive represented the West Indies from 1966 to 1985 – a highlight of his career was captaining the Windies to successive World Cup titles in 1975 and 1979.
Also receiving the 2024 Order of the Caribbean Community was Roderick Rainford, who served as CARICOM Secretary General from 1983 to 1992.
Meanwhile at the CARICOM meeting, Curaçao has been officially admitted as the bloc’s 6th Associate Member.
