Police are investigating an incident where the driver of the Deputy Commissioner of Prisons was shot and wounded this morning in Barataria.

The driver has been identified as Prison Officer, Steve Phipps.

In a statement, Police Commissioner Erla Christopher said the TTPS is working with the Prison Service and that all available resources will be used to apprehend those responsible.

The TTPS is hosting a media briefing at 1:30pm today where further details will be provided on the incident.
