Seales takes four but WI facing 250-run deficit

Jayden Seales took four wickets, but England secured a 250-run lead in the first innings of the opening Test at Lord’s.

After having been bowled out for 121, West Indies struck early in the England response, with Seales getting Ben Duckett caught behind for 3 – 29/1 after 7.2 overs.

But the England counterpunch was led by half centuries for Zak Crawley (76), Ollie Pope (57), Joe Root (68), Harry Brook (50) and debutant Jamie Smith (70).

Seales wrapped up the innings with the wicket of Jamie Smith to finish with figures of 4/77 – there were two wickets each for Gudakesh Motie and Jason Holder, one for Alzarri Joseph and an excellent runout by debutant Mikyle Louis.

The Test is on Day Two.
