Artefacts from the Indian Caribbean Museum in Waterloo have been moved.
Those items are available for viewing at their new location, which is the Isaiah Boodhoo Art Gallery, located on the same compound.
Concerns were expressed about the well-being of the items and the building itself, after photos were shared on social media showing discoloured paint, overgrown grass and a collapsed tent on the compound.
The Museum was founded and continues to be run by the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha.
103.1FM News spoke with SDMS Secretary General Vijay Maharaj, who assured of the safety of the artefacts and other material.
Regarding the now closed Museum, he said the structure is over 70 years old and previously housed a school.
He adds that assessments and other works are continuing at this time.
