The Scrap Iron Dealers Association has welcomed the appointment of Satyakama Maharaj as the new Trade Minister.

In a statement, the organization pledged its commitment and support to working with Mr. Maharaj, who is now its line Minister.

In particular, it is hoping for solutions to the “many issues” that it says continue to plague the industry.

Meanwhile, the T&T Coalition of Services Industries says Mr Maharaj’s appointment “signals a promising future for trade policy”.

TTCSI President Dianne Joseph is also hopeful for collaboration to advance an agenda that supports the growth of the services sector, diversifies the economy, and improves market access for service providers, both regionally and internationally.
