Sandals again asked to consider a hotel in Tobago

The Sandals Group has been asked to once again consider the establishment of a hotel in Tobago.

Today, the company’s Executive Chairman Adam Stewart met with Prime Minister Stuart Young, THA Chairman Farley Augustine and a number of Tobago stakeholders.

Following a presentation by the company, the stakeholders met among themselves to further discuss the matter.

According to Mr Young, there was unanimous support to move forward, with the stakeholders even drafting a resolution which was then presented to Mr Stewart.

Mr Stewart says the matter will be discussed with the Group, with a decision to be made in the coming weeks.

There is however no timeline on how soon a response will be issued.

Mr Young however has stressed that this proposal is being done on a clean slate, one step at a time.

A previous attempt for a Sandals hotel in Tobago was scrapped back in 2019, with the company citing the impact of negative publicity.
