A 31-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 5-year-old Shaquille Williams.

On August 30th, the little boy was taken to the Paediatrics Accident and Emergency Department at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

According to the TTPS, he was unresponsive and showed no signs of life, with death pronounced at 6:44pm.

Javon Fraser of San Juan was arrested after an investigation and charged with the little boy’s murder.

He was remanded into custody when he appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate on September 18th.

The matter was adjourned to October 16th 2023.

According to reports, an autopsy found that little Shaquille died as a result of blunt force trauma.
