Andre Russell hit four sixes and one four in a match-winning 36 from just 15 balls in last night’s first home game of CPL 2024, against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Chasing 149, TKR found the going to be slow, and we 89/5 after 15 overs.
However, Russell and Tim David then put on an unbroken 60-run partnership from just 26 balls to get TKR to 149/5 in 19.2 overs.
Earlier, Guyana made 148/7, thanks in large part to Romario Shepherd’s 51 not out which helped them recover from 76/6.
Russell spoke with the media following the game.
Also reflecting on the game was Kevin Sinclair.
Meanwhile, Russell revealed that he plans to play international cricket for another two years.
