A robbery suspect is now dead following an exchange of gunfire with police.
Around 9:17am on Saturday, a 33-year-old man went to Rafferty Street in St Joseph, to deliver tools to a customer.
Upon handing over the merchandise, the victim turned his back to write a receipt, at which point a gun was put to the back of his head.
The customer announced a robbery and proceeded to steal the victim’s company vehicle, his personal Samsung cellphone, a company-issued Redmi Poco, and $2,300 in cash.
After a report was made, the car was tracked to Santa Monica Trace in Las Lomas, where a male suspect allegedly opened fire on the officers.
They returned fire, hitting the suspect, who later died while being taken for medical treatment.
The deceased, identified as Brandon Hernandez, was positively identified by the victim.
The stolen items were also recovered.
