Efforts to find Pete Phillip have transitioned from search and rescue to search and recovery.

Mr Phillip has been missing since the partial collapse of Rig 110 on December 22nd.

The rig’s operator, Well Services Ltd, says given the length of time that has passed and the challenging maritime conditions, it determined that the possibility of survival may be unlikely at this time.

It adds that the decision was reached with careful consideration, following a comprehensive assessment of the situation and in consultation with recognized experts in the field.

It assures that this phase of the operation will prioritize the safety of all personnel and respect for those affected.
