Three of the five Guyana servicemen who were killed in a helicopter crash died due to burns.

This is according to Kaieteur News which quoted the autopsy reports for Brigadier Retired Gary Beaton, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Charles, and Lieutenant Colonel Sean Welcome.

The other two deceased servicemen, Colonel Michael Shaoud and Staff Sergeant Jason Khan, died from multiple injuries to their bodies.

Kaieteur News reports that the two survivors, co-pilot Lieutenant Andio Crawford and Corporal Dwayne Jackson, have been discharged from hospital and are recovering at home.

The Guyana Defence Force helicopter went down on December 6th, 2023 while on a mission to the border regions.
