A regional ferry service is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2024.

This is according to a report from Barbados Today after the Connect Caribe service was launched yesterday by a private sector consortium.

It says the service will offer weekly and daily roundtrips between Barbados, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, St Vincent, Grenada, Dominica, Antigua, Suriname and Guyana.

Barbados Today adds that Connect Caribe will have three vessels and a capacity to transport up to 8,000 passengers, cargo and manufactured goods and produce.
