A pundit was among a number of murders which occurred over the weekend.

According to reports, Pundit Ramesh Maharaj was chopped to death by two men who entered his Sangre Grande home and stole valuables.

His wife was said to have been unharmed.

Meanwhile, 47-year-old Keisha Blackman was stabbed to death in Carenage and a man, still to be identified, was shot and killed at a bar in Cantaro, Santa Cruz.

Also, on Saturday, a Claxton Bay labourer died from gunshots after being dropped off at the Couva District Health Facility by unknown men.

The man, brought to the facility around 6am, has been identified as 31-year-old Brandon Barclay.
