The public is being invited to attend sessions and give feedback on proposals to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
According to the Social Development Ministry, a study was done in T&T in collaboration with The University of the West Indies and the Caribbean Development Bank.
It consisted of interviews with representatives from Ministries, disability associations, private sector organizations and schools, as well as with persons with disabilities.
In particular, it highlighted a need to address gaps spanning from financial support and access, to services for persons with disabilities.
Tomorrow at a session at NALIS in Port of Spain from 8:30am, the researchers involved in the study will propose short, medium and long term solutions, with the public invited to attend and provide feedback.
Two other public sessions will be held – on Thursday at the San Fernando City Corporation from 8:30am and in Tobago at a date and venue to be decided.
