The Princes Town Regional Corporation Chairman wants to know when money collected from the Property Tax will be allocated to the municipal body.
In a statement, Gowrie Roopnarine pointed to repeated statements from Local Government Minister Faris Al-Rawi, which suggested that the money would directly benefit the Corporation.
He adds that while Princes Town residents would have paid their property taxes last year in the run up to the new financial year, the Corporation is still waiting to see the promised funds.
Mr. Roopnarine says, “It is time for the Ministers of Local Government and Finance to fulfill their commitments and ensure that the property tax revenues are allocated to address the pressing needs of our region.”
